The forecast was pretty good and as promised by Allan the weather stayed good all day.
We had a reasonable entry with 12 members and a guest appearance by Russell Dunn in his XY Falcon. We did however lose Calvin to oil leak issues but it was great to see him and Linda at the track.
Russell was recorded with the fastest time with Allan in the Commodore second, followed by Ross Graham’s A9X Torana. Most drivers struggled with the very low grip track conditions.

Race 1
The cars lined up with Russell on P1 with Allan alongside then Ross Graham and Kayton then the two Pauls, followed by Michael and Lee.
The lights went out and Allan led Ross Graham into turn one followed by Russell, with Kayton on the outside. The two Pauls were still side by side going into the turn but by the exit Pinky was in front of both Kayton and Paul U.
Pinky then snuck past Russell on the way into turn 5 only to see the leading pair disappearing into the distance. On lap 6 however Allan pulled off with brake issues giving the lead to Ross in the Torana followed by Paul in the little Torana, Kayton, Paul U, Lee and Ross Golding.

Race 2

As usual a handicap. This race was comfortably won by Colin in the big block Corvette followed by the two Ross Gs with the Commodore leading home the Torana, then Allan and Kevin in the Charger. Back in the pack there had been some dramas with Lee spinning on the exit of the sweeper onto the back straightwhich almost caused Kayton’s lovely silver HQ to almost have a pink dent on its ar.e.

Race 3
By our final race of the day which was also a handicap we were down on numbers as Allan had retired with brake issues and Chris Anderson also calling it a day due to oil pressure problems.
Paul in the Torana GTR was about to pass Ross on the front straight when the bonnet blew open of Ross’s car causing him to retire. The little Torana went on to pass the Corvette in the infield and then a couple of laps later Michael’s Commodore also in the infield which gave Paul the lead which was not relinquished.
Kayton followed Paul home with Colin 3rd then Michael and Torana Ross.

Class B 1st Michael Crawley 1244, 2nd Paul Burnet 1227, 3rd Kevin Burke 418.
Invitation 1st Lee Budd 1030, 2nd Paul Urquhart 442.
