Rally New Zealand which is a round of the WRC (World Rally Championship) is holding a Super Special stage at Hampton Downs on Saturday 8 May 2010, The Rally organizers have decided to stage a Motorsport Carnival at Hampton to entertain the large expected crowd and the massive world media that will be attending.

 As part of the entertainment NZIGP have opted to run a 2 class race meeting. This will be open to all saloon race cars. There will be a maximum number of 75 cars which will be put into 2 groups for qualifying, the cars will then be allocated into 2 speed groups which will make up the grids for the 2 Race classes.

Each group will then get one race in the morning just before the WRC cars arrive and another race in the afternoon just prior to the WRC cars returning for their second shot at the Super Special stage.

This could be a great opportunity to showcase both Northern Muscle and the Classic Japanese Cars to the World media and crowd.

 You will note the entry fee is only $100 which I am sure will make this a very popular meeting, due to the limited competitor numbers entry’s will be accepted on a first in basis.
